Gardens, Gods, and the Gift of a Ride

“Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers.” - Blanche DuBois, A Streetcar Named Desire (Tennessee Williams) Our last day in Athens was divided into four acts. ACT I - One last walk through Monastiraki Square, National Gardens, Plaka. Momo Suites Acropolis by Aura has been good to us. The location… Continue reading Gardens, Gods, and the Gift of a Ride

Hiking with the Gods

Our journey began early this day. As our taxi drove us to the train station, we noticed how the lively, bustling areas of Plaka and Monastiraki were still asleep aside from a few coffee shops. (I conquered most all the ciders in England, maybe I need to start with domestics now?) Let’s talk about transportation. I think what… Continue reading DAY 16

DAY 15

Windsor. I’ve been keeping a lid on this one for a while (frankly, I didn’t want to jinx anything). Back in March, I threw a Hail Mary and emailed a representative of the Royal Trust Collection. In my family research, I discovered there was once a portrait drawn of my direct ancestor (my grandmother if… Continue reading DAY 15
